Why Does Coaching Work? Coaching works because it brings out your best. A coach believes you have the answers and is trained to bring them out (painlessly)! Specifically, this is what I do with you during our coaching sessions: Listen: I listen fully. You are the focus. I listen to what you say, what you are trying to say, and what you are not saying, what you intended to say, plus how you say or don't say all this. Share: After you have communicated (fully or enough), I work with you with your thoughts and feelings about all this -- and also may share with you my advice, ideas, comments and views on your situation, dilemma or opportunity based on my own experience and my sense of things for you intuitively and from my inklings of what's up here. Co-Create: Important parts of our work will be in the realm of co-creation. It's what happens naturally with my clients in this very unique partnership. My experience is this coming together lays groundwork for the perfect trust environment to evolve for the co-creation process. This can lend them the permission and support needed to take new and sometimes extraordinary, fact-based new risks and there is often a time each month, sometimes each session, when we know we are on a new edge of their life. Endorse: Validation, holding the light on your gifts, and endorsement of who you are and what you are up to is so important. It's a gift to have a regular source of this. An outside voice full of endorsement, compassion and acknowledgment is very different than a yes-type agreementą -- it puts clients in touch with themselves at deeper and sometimes brand new levels. Suggest: I want a lot for you. I want you to be healthy, happy and successful; to be on a strong financial track; to enjoy family and friends. I want you to have a life that inspires others - and yourself. I want your standards high enough so even YOU are impressed to be a part of your life. Part of my job is to be at least 3 steps ahead of you, yet be with you. As such, I make requests and suggestions and you, as the expert on you, decide if these will forward you and how (or if) they are a good investment. If so, I support you in carrying these out. Follow-Up/Follow-Through: Coaching provides a great venue for you to use to complete and follow-through with your dreams and goals for yourself. While the Coach is NOT ever the taskmaster (especially this Coach), just having the regularly appointed time to check in, recharge, and refurbish or redesign by it's very nature fosters follow-through.
